Description

This Badge is issued to Representatives for information and services (RIF) for the Federal Portal of the University of Turin, who are responsible for operational management of and basic assistance for multimedia and IT components on the common computerized spaces, that is computerized teaching rooms used for lessons and/or events within his or her own Organisational Structure. The RIF’s are the reference figures for the management and coordination of information flows and services of the organisational units making up the University. This Badge gives validity to the individual competencies of the Common Computerized Spaces RIF.

Badge Criteria

This Badge is issued to employees of the University of Turin who have been officially appointed as Representatives for information and services (RIF) for the Federal Portal for the Common Computerized Spaces service and have participated in the training course. The Badge certifies successful completion of the course and passing of the final examination, which consists of an online test and an interview: it demonstrates knowledge of reference documentation and ability to ensure proper fulfilment of the role.

Skills

The holder of this Badge has already acquired the "Representatives for information and services-Federal Portal " Badge and therefore possesses the valid competencies. The holder of this Badge also carries out the following activities: being able to carry out a preliminary analysis of the reasons for any malfunction that may occur and implement standard procedures for resolving the problems; interfacing with staff responsible for normal management of the spaces and, where necessary, with end users (checking on proper use of equipment and availability of basic manuals); interfacing with staff and/or the platforms for allocating spaces , including checking on availability when maintenance/repair work or special events are planned; being able to carry out a preliminary analysis of the needs of applicants requesting use of spaces for events or for uses requiring resetting/consolidation of equipment, then offering spaces most suitable for those needs and identifying critical issues or the need for consolidation of equipment and reporting these to the IT Systems Service Desk; acting as a reference capable of supplying authorised technicians with the specifications of functional features  of equipment, connections, settings, network, wifi, etc. where spaces are to be used for broadcasting/recording of streaming (typically the Aula Magna [main hall] of the structure in question or a technically equipped multimedia station); linking up with other Rif’s, viz Network, Wifi and Voip and Thinclient and Cloud, as and when necessary; being familiar with the locations, functional features and setting options of the equipment under his or her control; being familiar with information regarding equipment warranties and maintenance contracts in force in his or her own OU; fostering knowledge of solutions and services that are already available within his or her own Organisational Unit.
